Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Godavari College of Engineering. We started our journey in the year of 2008. We have a undergraduate program B. Tech in mechanical engineering. At the postgraduate level, we offer M. Tech and PhD degrees.
The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The department has highly qualified faculty with rich teaching & research experience. The faculty members are involved in cutting edge research and have publications in high impact international journals.
The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty of the best kind of the Department ensuring quality education such as interaction among students, parents and staff, along with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to the students.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest department in the Institute. The department offers B.Tech., M.Tech. (Thermal Engineering) and Ph.D. degree programs. To keep the students abreast of latest trends in technological developments, the department provides the state- of- the art laboratory facilities. A CAD/CAM centre equipped with high end workstations and audio visual teaching aids. Similarly department is having all the equipped laboratories. The department has central workshop with all machineries like Lathe, Milling Machine, CNC Machines, Shaping Machine, Radial Drilling Machine in sufficient numbers. Student gets wide exposure of practical knowledge of different operations while working in workshop.
To meet the required Academic standards, quality instruction to students is imparted by the motivated and qualified faculty members providing good academic insights. To provide higher degree of perspective in the concepts of subject content, Computers and Audio- Visual equipment are extensively used. Students are especially trained to meet the current industrial requirements.
Department of Mechanical has also started Material Advantage Student Chapter which is approved by ASM International and works in association with American Ceramic Society (ACS), Association for Iron and Steel Technology(AIST), The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society(TMS). Due to this chapter students will come to know the recent happenings in the world of material science.
