Freshers Carnival’ Fresher Party Celebrated with Enthusiasm at  GF’s  Godavari College of Engineering

Stepping into college from school marks a transition into a new world for students. As they enter college life, students often feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. To help these students get acquainted with the college and their seniors, a fresher party is organized.

 In this context, the second-year students of Godavari College of Engineering organized the Freshers’ Carnival for first-year students on November 18, 2024. The  event was graced by the presence of the college’s Principal, Dr. Vijaykumar Patil; Prof. Deepak Zhambre (Polytechnic Coordinator); Dr. Hemant Ingle (Dean); Dr. Ishwar Jadhav (Registrar); Dr. Nitin Bhole (Head, Basic Sciences and Humanities); Prof. Tushar Koli (Head, Mechanical Department); Prof. Nilesh Wani (Head, Computer Department); Dr. Anilkumar Vishwakarma (Head, Artificial Intelligence Department); Dr. Vijaykumar Wankhede (Training and Placement Officer), along with the entire faculty, non-teaching staff, and students.

 The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and worship of Goddess Saraswati by the dignitaries. Following this, the dignitaries were welcomed with floral bouquets by the students.

 The college’s Principal, Dr Vijaykumar  Patil, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that students should showcase their talents, which helps in developing maturity in their personalities. He also highlighted that such programs foster mutual relationships and holistic development. He encouraged everyone to actively participate in the day’s events and enjoy the program to the fullest.

 The day-long event was designed to enhance the students’ hidden talents, confidence, and mutual bonding. Various rounds were organized as part of the celebration. In the first round, students had to pick a chit from a bowl and complete the tasks mentioned in it. This round saw enthusiastic participation from all first-year students.

 In the second round, shortlisted students demonstrated their intellectual skills through the “Guess the Name in Pair” task. Finally, in the last round, the selected students showcased their talents in the Show Your Talent segment, presenting performances such as dance, singing, mimicry, and more.

 The highlight of the event was the selection of  Mr Fresher and  Miss Fresher.  Sumit Patil was crowned  Mr Fresher, and  Ms Ashwini Thakre was named  Miss Fresher.

 The event was  hosted by a team of second-year students, including Neelakshi Barde, Mansi Bhagat, Ganesh Kolte, Tejas Patil, Pallavi Takle, Neha Patil, Tejas Suryawanshi, Harshada Warule, Sagar Kuvar, Sakshi Ubale, Mayur Koli, Jhanvi Borse, Tulja Mahajan, Pranav Thorat, Mohish Narkhede, and Nutan Choudhary.

 Additionally, Prof. Hemraj Dhande, Prof. Jayashri Patil, Dr. Lalita Patil, and Prof. Tushar Koli contributed as  judges during the program.

 The event’s success was attributed to the  guidance of Dr. Nitin Bhole and Principal Dr. Vijaykumar Patil, along with the cooperation of all first-year faculty members.

  On November 10, 2024, GF’s Godavari College of Engineering buzzed with excitement as it hosted the Aavishkar 2025 zonal competition a prestigious event organized by  Dr Babasaheb  Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere. Held annually since 2006, Aavishkar empowers students to delve into research, sparking their passion for innovation and problem-solving across six vibrant zones in Maharashtra.

  Dignitaries, including chief guest Mr.  Subhash Patil, Chairman of Mastek Controls, joined college principal Dr. Vijaykumar Patil and other prominent guests to kick start the day with a ceremonial Saraswati Pooja. Dr.  Vijaykumar Patil set the stage, highlighting the event’s mission to cultivate inventive thinking and research skills in tackling social challenges.

  Aavishkar’s star-studded agenda continued with talks on green energy, the future of electric mobility, and cutting-edge tech like 5G and cyber security.  Mr Subhash Patil urged students to gain hands-on skills and industry insights, focusing on internships and training for real-world impact.

  This year’s competition categories spanned Commerce, Pure Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, and the Humanities. Enthusiastic students from institutions across Maharashtra showcased groundbreaking projects and won medals for their remarkable work.

  Dr Ulhas Patil, President of the Godavari Foundation, along with  Dr Varsha Patil (Secretary),  Dr Ketki Patil (Member), and  Dr Vaibhav Patil (DM Cardiology), commended the success of the Aavishkar 2025 event.

  The event was coordinated by Prof.  Nemichand Saini and  Prof Jaishree Patil from the Electrical Department, under the guidance of Dr. Vijaykumar Patil, Principal of Godavari College of Engineering. Student anchors  Tulja Mahajan and  Nilakshi Barde conducted the inauguration ceremony, while  Hemangi Baba and  Shrut Sonar skillfully managed the closing ceremony.

 Prof Nemichand Saini, serving as the Aavishkar Coordinator, expressed gratitude to all contributors through a heartfelt vote of thanks. The dedicated efforts of all department heads, faculty, and committee members were instrumental in making the program a resounding success.

Aavishkar 2025 left a powerful impact on participants and spectators alike, laying the groundwork for a new generation of innovative thinkers and problem-solvers.
